From opening its doors in 1852 to today — the story of the house on Glavni trg in Kranj.
The beginnings
Stari Mayr opened its doors in 1852, on the square where it still stands today. Kranj was then a town of craftsmen and merchants, and the house by the square was a natural stop for anyone arriving from elsewhere. A place to sleep, a quiet night, and a new day ahead.
Through the generations
The house has changed hands, and each generation left its mark — new windows, different furniture, renovated bathrooms. Over the years the fittings, the rooms and the small details have changed, but everything has stayed true to the same purpose: that a guest feels comfortable and at home with us.
Today
Today the house offers double, triple and quadruple rooms on the first and second floors. Each has its own bathroom, quiet privacy and the warmth of an old house, where a day in the city is easy to leave behind. Breakfast is served in the courtyard in summer, and you're welcome to stay with us for a night, a weekend, or longer.
